We did alot of hiking while visiting Katie in Denver. I love this picture of the Mallard. They are so beautiful!

Darling little Esther was such a good sport about being bundled up for our hikes in the cold. It was sunny and calm so we enjoyed the hikes, but it was COLD.

Amazing that someone would rock climb this huge slab! No, those are not my kids! (although Katie said she would LOVE to be up there!) I think this place is called "The Iron Flats"

One of our fun adventures was going to watch Scotty fly his new plane. (Katie let him pull out an early Christmas gift for all of our benefit. It was REALLY exciting!

This plane (not his big new one) lost power over this huge tree and it landed in a nest. Blake began a climb up the tree to retrieve it, but we all voted that it was way too high to go for. Blake got up to where the height bothered him and he was only about 1/3 the way up to the plane! Luckily, the next morning, the plane was half way down (probably pecked out of the nest by the birds), so Scotty was able to throw sticks at it until it fell the rest of the way down.

Hiking up the trail. Michael is making that silly face he does when we pull out the camera. He makes me laugh! Kreighton is the one in pink. Brinn didn't have a boy suit and it was too cold to be fashionable. (Maybe that is why Michael is pulling that face!)

Clara got to take quite the hike on her daddy's back. He was out ahead of us and we all turned back. The kids had hiked all they would. We figured he would notice and turn back but he trekked on. We finally got him on the phone and Katie and Brinn hurried back up to hike out with him. They just couldn't get enough with the slow little ones. I happily stayed back with them. I did get enough hiking. I think I am getting lazy.

This is quite the amazing landscape! The Iron Flats. We had a wonderful time in Denver. For some reason, Dad didn't pull out the camera for the dinner, but we had a wonderful meal. How grateful I am for family and plenty!
