from the bus

We saw such amazing scenery on our many bus trips. Remember dad's tongue twister in Spanish about Popocatepicl ? This is it. A famous volcano and you can see the smoke coming out of the top. Then there is another volcano which I don't remember the name. A monument in Mexico city, and a hay field stacked in pyrimids by hand and later picked up and put in a horse drawn wagon. We kept missing the shots of the horses and wagons because our camera took so long to actually take the darn picture so we zoomed past.
I need to get to work so I will blog more later.

The dancing was incredible. I'm sorry these are fuzzy but we couldn't use flash. You could not believe how professional this was. The costuming, the choriography, the talent. They did Ballroom, clogging, and native dances, including an amazing fire dance. Remember, these kids are high school age! They also had an orchestra that played "Pirates" and were dressed up as pirates. It was done in the dark with a background of a ship and ocean. Their bows had glow in the dark bands on them and they had "lightening" flashing the whole time and a fireworks display at the end. We hadn't tried our camera at this point of the program so no pictures of them. We loved it!

This was the most amazing program. This is an LDS high school set up like a college campus. Kids come from all over Mexico to attend. The program was as professional as I have seen. BYU was there filming and it will air on the BYU channel sometime in December. I will try and let you know. This girl is only 15. She was unbelieveably good and beautiful and sweet. I'm sure we will see her in the Miss World Pageant someday (unless she won't do it because of her standards, which is entirely possible.)

Mexico and more

Gordan's with Pres. Walker. On top of the Pyrimid with your Dad's newly discovered cousin. (one of them. There were two. Fun stories for later.) The children were some of my favorite sites! Your dad was embarrassed to stand by this ruin, but all the other guys did!

The Missionaries

This is most of the group. I'm sorry I cut a few off and a few were at the hotel, sick. Angela, you should recognize Dr. Gordan lower left. We had fun showing him pictures of the boys he delivered! And the other 10 grandchildren as well. I was really quite a show off!

Mexico

We're back! We had a glorious time! This man made the trip almost magical. How he loves his missionaries and how they love him! The whole trip was wonderful, the history, the sites, the ambience, etc. We will show pictures and tell more later, but the association with President and Sister Walker and the 50 other missionaries and spouses was what the made the trip what it was. I can't believe we didn't get a picture with Sister Walker, too. She didn't leave the bus for this particular museum. The trip was a very hurried and taxing schedule so we could see all he wanted us to see. We were all dog tired at the end of each day and the Walker's are almost 80 years old so sometimes, they stayed back.

Joe Cool

I told him the hair do had to go. Carlianne is fighting me... go figure! Cute kid, though, don't you think? He was preparing for a song practice for singing in church next week.

Like Father, Like Son....

This was an attempt on Carlianne's part to help Mason be more up to date in his hair and dress. So....Dad let us all know how he felt about the change!

Conference Storm results

We got about 4 1/2 inches of wet, wet snow Saturday morning. It was fun and very pretty but did a lot of damage to the trees. Dad is so sad about his Ball Willow in the back yard. The fourth picture is Cameron's back yard. Amazing! They told us all to stay home because of falling trees and down electric lines. Rigby was out of power for the entire day. They couldn't get conference at all. We just lost power for a few minutes.

Bone

This is a spot that Dad wants to try to procure to build a home. He would put it where Mason is standing. There is a spring and this is the view. Awesome dreaming...

Hansen Reunion

The adults did a fun balancing thing on the teeter-totter, walking across it together, before we put the little ones on for a ride. Next, we walked across cables about a foot above the ground, holding each other for balance and sometimes the cables were too far apart to stand straight up. These are the cabins we stayed in. Very clean and nice.

Hansen Reunion

This was such a wonderful place for a reunion. Just a few shots to show how gorgeous it was up Heber Canyon. We are on a walk and then enjoying some of the events that the camp provides.

Our little daily visitor

Cute little Mosiah comes to check in almost every day. He always has such cute outfits on. Here, he has Grandpa's derby and Grandma's stuffy. Too cute!

Sariah and Tiniya

This was such a good picture of this darling team. Camille has been so sweet to let Sariah ride Tiniya any time she wants. I made an 8X10 of this picture for her birthday. Carlianne was the photographer.

This was a fun ride we took up Bone way, with Grandpa and Sariah (for her birthday). Dad was also with us but he held the camera.
