Mason's Harem

Mason thought Harriman meant Harem! Everywhere he went there were at least this many girls following him. I'm sure he will blog more pictures. There were a bunch a really cute and sweet girls giving him all sorts of attention. Your little brother is growing up. YIKES!

Mountains and Strings

Mason had a glorious time!

Harriman State Park

Mason spent the week at Harriman at a music camp. The final concert was incredible! And this is the scenery we experienced while listening to the orchestra. Unbelieveable opportunity!

The next morning, we had a nice breakfast and Dad, Uncle Staff and Uncle Jud took a killer mountain bike ride.

Date Night

Staff and Shelly hosted a wonderful date night friday night. They had an incredible meal, then provided us with motorcycles and 4 wheelers and we went out to a lookout point near their cabin and watched the sunset. It was so beautiful! Afterwards, we had ice-cream and cheesecake and played games and visited. Then we all slept there. Dad and I put a mattress from their bed and a feather tick in the back of Stafford's pickup and drove up Diamond X and slept outside. Grandpa and Grandma are not shown. They didn't walk out to the lookout point where we took pictures. They followed the bikes in a pickup.

So, we didn't have a suit for Quincy and his diaper took on about 10 pounds of water. We took the diaper off and then he couldn't keep his pants up. Fun rope swing over the canal.

Bone

We went to Bone for the 4th of July and the sunset was so pretty. This is a cute shot of Carlianne and Micah sitting up on a rock checking things out.

Mason and Sitka

We took a great ride up in the Bone area. Here is Mason taking a rest for his horse. We did alot of climbing on this one.

A river crossing

We crossed the river four times (sometimes up to our hind ends). We usually chose these times to stop and drink and munch and visit for a much needed rest. From left, Emily, me Wendy, Carlianne, Micah and Steve is standing.

Getting ready to leave

This was such a beautiful camping spot! I jumped in the river for one last dip before we were to take off on the 8 mile hike out. Then, after I got dressed and ready, Carlianne and Micah got in and a water fight ensued! I hiked out VERY wet! Don't worry, I dried out in about 15 minutes, it was so hot! Another cute shot of Dad. He did get in the water hole but then the camera wasn't close by. Steve also swam but it across the river in this shot, taking pictures of it all.

The Doctor

Micah's Dad, Steve, took care of all our blister needs. This is a rare picture of him. His whole love of hiking centers around pictures so he carries the camera and won't ever stand in on the pictures. He is a real cute guy.

The swimming hole

This felt soooooo good! The water was actually warm.

He's all mine!

I love this shot of Dad (of course, I took it!). He looked so handsome in his hiking gear!

Mosquitos

Shirley and the boys headed out early in the morning. The boys had had all they could take of the bugs. They were real wannies. Too bad she couldn't have sent them alone. Emily stuck it out and was a real trouper. From left: Marshall, Jonathan, Sean, Shirley, Wendy (Micah's mom), me, Carlianne, Micah, and Emily.

Our Gorgeous camp site

We are bundled up and not because of cold. The mosquitos were outrageous! You see our bear pole where we hung our food at night and while we were away from the camp. Our lunch table is quite the deal, the bears had cleaned out the grubs for us first. Nice animals, huh? Carlianne and Micah hiked in ahead of us and followed a huge grizzley track. They didn't tell me until morning! So, I slept like a baby. (Dad lay awake most of the night, he said. Too bad they told him about the bear!)

Carlianne and Micah hiked down to the bottom of the falls and did a "Last of the Mohikan's" scene under the falls (minus the kiss, she said) I was so sad not to have the camera with me. Dad had it and was hiking around the top of the falls. By the time he got there with the camera, they were coming up from the nearly straight up and down hike.

I think this should be called "Bridle Veil Falls"! It is Union Falls and it is spectacular!

A REAL back massage!

This picture ain't great of me and Shirley, but it prooves we're there at the swimming hole after an 8 mile hike in with about 30 poung back packs. We may LOOK over the hill, but we're not!! (We're over the mountain!)
